Gu Yi Ye, and Gao Liang are both hard-working new recruits that have entered the military in order to become ace troops. Along the way, they meet many hardships and do their best to get through them together, as a brotherhood. Through the course of their intensive training, they also fall in love with the same girl, Jiang Nan Zheng. Now Jiang Nan Zheng must decide who she wants to be with, between two good friends. Who will she end up with? Through the course of a 40-year time period, Gao Liang and Gu Yi Ye follow different paths in the course of their lives. In 2013, Gao Liang after being transferred to be acting brigade commander came upon a series of issues of falsification & formalism and decided to reform the training methods. Through a series of actual combat training, he managed to train a group of soldiers who can fight well.
